Northern Trust Adds Two To Fund Of Funds Unit

Northern Trust Asset Management’s fund of hedge funds business is growing with a pair of hires.

The firm named Tristan Thomas director of portfolio strategy and Greg Jones an analyst, Pensions and Investments reports. Both positions are new.

Thomas, who will oversee portfolio construction and monitoring, and customized fund-of-funds portfolio development, joins from Mesirow Advance Strategies. Jones, who will cover global macro, relative value and managed futures hedge funds, moves to Northern Trust from Cliffwater.

Mesirow, where Thomas was a senior vice president of hedge-fund research, said it was considering a replacement. Cliffwater said that Jones’ successor hasn’t been named.
