Global alternative fund administration services provider SANNE has named former Orangefield executive Sean Murray as its new head of fund services for the EMEA region.

In his new role, Murray will be responsible for the development of the company’s fund services offering, working with all of the SANNE’s alternative asset product areas. He will be based in Luxembourg, the company said.

Murray joins SANNE from Orangefield, also in Luxembourg, where he was managing director and a member of the global alternative investments management board. He also sat on the board and management team of Vistra Luxembourg after Orangefield began a merger with Vistra Group in June 2016.

While at Orangefield, Murray created the company’s fund services offering in Luxembourg after successfully securing a licence to service regulated funds business. He was involved in successful acquisitions of other fund administrators, including in the U.S. and Channel Islands, to establish an Orangefield presence in these locations. Previously, he held senior positions at Northern Trust in Luxembourg as the head of fund accounting and also at Northern Trust in Guernsey as a fund accounting manager.

“Sean’s unique skills set, valuable industry experience and leadership will be a huge advantage for our growing business,” said Martin Schnaier, SANNE’s managing director of alternative assets in EMEA, in a statement. “He has a long track record of developing and expanding offices and has an impressive depth of knowledge within our industry.

“Sean is an expert in multiple asset classes, including real estate, debt (private debt and structured finance), private equity and hedge funds,” Schnaier added. “His appointment will help Sanne further enhance the services we provide.”

SANNE’s hedge fund business division is a leading provider of outsourced investment administration services to the asset management industry. The company provides administration, reporting and fiduciary services to leading alternative asset managers, financial institutions, family offices and corporates. SANNE administers more than 5,000 structures and funds that have in excess of £160 billion of assets on behalf of more than 1,000 clients worldwide.
