Jul 27 2017 | 5:37pm ET

Outsourced CIO pioneer Hirtle Callaghan has named former Hartford Funds executive and financial services industry veteran Erica Evans as the company’s new head of client engagement.

In her new role, Evans will work closely with the firm's CIOs to further their client centric model, according to a statement. The position is new.

Evans has more than 25 years of experience in sales strategy, marketing, communication and general management roles in the financial services industry. She was most recently the head of sales strategy & institutional partnerships at Hartford Funds. Beforehand, she served as head of sales and mat HIMCO, Hartford’s asset management unit, and previously worked at ING Investment Management as head of institutional business, and spent more than 15 years at GE Asset Management in various client service, relationship management, compliance, and operational risk roles culminating as head of client investment management services.

Founded in 1988 and based in Philadelphia, Hirtle Callaghan is widely considered to have pioneered the outsourced chief investment officer model, a service offering designed to provide conflict-free CIO and investment department skills to family offices and institutions that did not want to manage and pay for internal staff.

As an organization of CIOs, the company sells no products, instead pooling purchasing power and aggregate expertise to design and manage custom-designed investment programs for family and institutional investors. The company supervises more than $20 billion of family, endowment, foundation, healthcare, and pension assets in 46 states.
