Financial services technology specialist Synechron has named former JP Morgan executive Peter Memon as the company’s new head of emerging technology.

Memon brings more than 25 years of experience in financial services, investment banking, capital markets and emerging technology to the new role, Synechron said in a statement. He will be based in New York and will report to Synechron’s CEO, Faisal Husain.

Prior to his new post, Memon led an elite R&D team at JP Morgan, where he designed next generation technologies. Beforehand, he built front-office trading systems at HSBC, was in charge of architectural development at Lehman Brothers, and managed risk/trade/analytics data at Barclays.

Founded in 2001 and headquartered in New York, Synechron is business and technology consultant helping financial services firms like hedge funds, insurance companies and asset managers build design, integrate, strategize and implement new technological innovations like blockchains, AI and other digital processes into their digital strategy and operational framework.  The company was the subject of a FINtech Focus article in March 2017.
