Alternative asset manager FS Investments has named former Goldman Sachs Asset Management executive Ryan Robertson as the firm's national sales manager.

In his new role, Robertson will report directly to Steve DeAngelis, executive vice president and the company’s head of distribution. He will be based in St. Louis, MO and oversee all external and internal sales professionals across the firm's growing distribution channels.

Prior to joining FS Investments, Robertson was at Goldman Sachs Asset Management for eight years, most recently as a VP and divisional sales manager for their wire house and regional broker dealer distribution channel. Prior to joining Goldman, Ryan served as a regional marketing director at Hartford Mutual Funds.

Before beginning his career in finance, Mr. Robertson played professional basketball for the Sacramento Kings and in Europe.

Founded in 2007 as Franklin Square Partners, FS Investments designs alternative investments to help institutional, advisory and individual investors build better portfolios. Its solutions include business development companies, closed-end credit funds and operating companies. The Philadelphia-based firm managed more than $20 billion in assets as of September 30, 2017.
