Sun Life Hires Head of Asia Credit Research

Sun Life Investment Management has hired Tieu-Bich Nguyen as head of Asia credit research.

With more than 20 years’ of credit experience, she will be responsible for leading Sun Life Investment Management’s Credit Research team, supporting its growth in Asia. 

Based in Sun Life Investment Management’s Asia Regional Office in Hong Kong, Nguyen will join the team on Feb. 7, 2018, according to a statement released but the company. 

With a focus on credit analyses, Nguyen will strategically advise on credit cycle positioning for Sun Life, which manages $45 billion in assets.

Previously, she was Senior Vice President and Partner at Wellington Management Company in Boston, where she built, developed and led a cross-regional Emerging Markets corporate investment strategy covering corporate issuers from Asia, the EMEA region and Latin America.

The Sun Life Investment Management group of institutional investment management companies comprises Sun Life Institutional Investments (Canada) Inc. and Bentall Kennedy (Canada) Limited Partnership in Canada, and Prime Advisors Inc., Ryan Labs Asset Management and Bentall Kennedy (U.S.) Limited Partnership in the United States. These operations have combined third-party assets under management of $56 billion, as of Sept. 30, 2017. Sun Life Investment Management includes the investment division of Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada that manages $141.5 billion in assets under management for the Sun Life Financial group of companies as of Sept. 30, 2017.
